“This Christmas give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you. Let yourself be healed completely that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release together by releasing everyone with us.” (ACIM Text Chapter 15, XI. Paragraph 3, lines 1-2)
It can be hard this time of year with all the extra seeming demands on our time, the temptation to idealize the past and to seek outside ourselves for love where it can never be found, to forget that our only function is forgiveness. True comfort and joy for all remains in our mind; only a choice away. Even when that choice seems impossible, it’s helpful to remember the love is still there, to be as kind, gentle, and patient with ourselves as we can possibly manage, and forgive ourselves our fear when we forget. No matter what challenges you may be facing this holiday season, try to remember (as Ken Wapnick so often reminded us) that everyone is fighting the same hard battle. We will all make it home, and our fearless leader Jesus has never flunked a student! 🙂
Much love to you all,
Susan
NEW AUDIOS:
Bruce Rawles and I reflect on the last section of A Course in Miracles text Chapter 15, Christmas as the End of Sacrifice, that urges us to make this year different by recommitting to choosing Jesus/Holy Spirit as our new inner teacher, thereby learning to apply forgiveness to everything we have made up to hurt us! http://www.acimblog.com/audio/ACIMblog-podcast/podcast2014/ACIMblog-podcast-18Dec2014-SusanDugan-ChristmasAsTheEndOfSacrifice.mp3
You can listen to my new audio with CA Brooks, 12Radio, in which we discuss workbook summaries “What Is the Ego?” and “What Am I” here: http://www.12radio.com/archive.cfm?archive=65EC8840-26B9-4187-8625E138743C00C2

HOLIDAY GIFT: My most recent essay collection, Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want, about learning to live a forgiving life and remembering to smile, is on sale for the holidays on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Forgiveness-Offers-Everything-I-Want/dp/0983742014
ANOTHER HOLIDAY GIFT: Schedule a HALF-HOUR, FORTY-FIVE MINUTE, OR HOUR-LONG ACIM MENTORING SESSION in November or December 2014 and get a second one free! https://www.foraysinforgiveness.com/personal-coaching Although A Course in Miracles is clearly a self-study program and the one relationship we are truly cultivating is with our eternally sane and loving right mind, mentoring can help remind Course students having trouble applying its unique forgiveness in the classroom of their lives that the problem and the solution never lie in the difficult relationship, situation, behavior, health issue, etc., but in the decision-making mind. In every circumstance, without exception, we can choose to experience inner peace and kindness toward all, unaffected by the seemingly random strife of a world designed to prove otherwise. By choosing to look at our lives as a classroom in which we bring all our painful illusions to the inner teacher of forgiveness who knows only our shared innocence beyond all its deceptive disguises, we learn to identify and transcend the ego’s resistance, hold others and even ourselves harmless, and gently allow our split mind to heal. Sessions are conducted via traditional phone or Skype (your choice). Please contact me to find out if mentoring is right for you before submitting a payment. (No one is ever turned away for lack of ability to pay!)

Bruce Rawles says
Thanks for this gift, Susan… We all think we’re poor, despicable students, flunkies for ego’s tyrannical demands, yet we’re just prodigals in dream only, truly comforted by the All-Inclusive Self we all joyously share. I listened to the recording again this morning, and was reminded of Richard Bach’s quote: “You teach best what you most need to learn,” since our comments seemed to resonate a bit deeper upon another reflection. 🙂
